I am finishing up my first guitar with a 24.9 scale. I need to glue the bridge on and am wondering where the saddle slot should be positioned. With 25.4 I position the bridge so that the high E is 5/64 (2mm) past the 25.4 mark.

Could someone who has done 24.9 tell me how this measurement should be different?

Thanks
Josh

Josh I set the 24.9" Scale ones to 25" in the center, so plus 0.1" (2.5mm) compensation .

Position will also be influenced bu strings. If you are using med or med light use about .125 and .100 for lights.
My personal position is to comp all .125 as the human ear will not pick up flat as quick as it will sharp and as it will eventually work to a higher action the longer comp will work to your benifit.

I have built 5 with a 24.9.. I use 0.125 at the center to the center of the
saddle slot.

I use a compensation of .100" at the center of the saddle slot on my 24.9" scale length with good results.

I love a 24.9" scale for my own guitars since I bend alot and it gives a little less resistence.

Thanks so much guys!

I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one sounds. This is my armrest/ribrest experiment guitar. I thought I might go all the way, so it has dual side ports and is 24.9.

we will see how it sounds.
